Description

4/13/22 - This is a rare and super cool Lithgow Vickers Mark I that was rebuilt in semi-automatic. This Vickers resembles their full-automatic counterparts but is built to a semi-automatic specification approved by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) that prevents installing full-auto fire control parts. The listing comes with the BATF approval document. The semi-auto Mark I Vickers is in .303 cal and was assembled using a Lithgow parts kit in 2006. The conversion of the recoil plates, lock, and sear were done by one of the better known early Vickers builders, Lonnie Ingram. Being an early build, the dimensions of the installed right side plate are not as true as the current commercial available semi-auto right side plates. Therefore, another semi-automatic right side plate, cam, and denial island made by Midwest Metal Creations of Lisbon, Iowa is included. The serial number on this additional right side plate matches the Vickers trunnion. The tripod’s legs and socket are British and dated 1942. The tripod socket is steel. The cross head is marked RT (Randwick Tramways, Sydney) and is dated 1942. Likewise, included are a broad arrow marked water can, water hose, and transit chest. The rifle is in excellent condition and our consignor has fired it himself without issue. FFL required.
