Description
3/29/21 - This is one of the rarer AC 43 P.38's from World War II. It has the large "ac" over the 43 but is E/WaA135 proofed on the frame, barrel and slide. Jan Still's Axis Pistols (p.30) states that some of the P.38 slides were manufactured by FN in Belgium and marked with the ac/43 or ac/44 code. These slides were shipped to both Mauser and Spreewerke, where they were assembled into complete pistols. It is estimated that about 4,000 P.38's bear these FN ac marked slides. This one is all matching and in excellent condition, retaining about 97% of its original finish. There is just a hint of wear on the front strap. There is some spotty discoloration here and there, typical with phosphate finishes. Comes with excellent grips and a period-correct magazine. Excellent bore - shiny with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional.Specifications
