Description
2/21/22 - This is a very nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1945 - marked "svw 45". There were only 15,000 SVW 45's produced, and over 346,000 total Mauser P.38's produced during the war (Jan Still, Axis Pistols). These SVW's are rare and Legacy does not get them often. This gun has a dual-tone finish, with a phosphate slide and frame, but blued barrel. This one is all matching and has the proper "Waffen 135" military proofs. The nature of the phosphate frame makes it difficult to rate, but we estimate it has retained about 90%. As is typical with phosphate, there is spotty oxidation throughout. There is thinning on the front strap and wear around some of the high edges. It comes with excellent grips and a rare phosphated magazine. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional.Specifications
