Description
10/31/23 - This is a rare pre-production Type 38 Arisaka that was produced at the Jinsen Arsenal during WW2. It is believed when the Imperial Japanese Army was setting up production in Incheon, South Korea, they had a test run to train the workers and then to be used as training rifles. There are roughly 400 of these examples and this one is serial number 400. Instead of the Chrysanthemum, it is stamped with the Japanese Kanji "To Teach." The side of the receiver is stamped with the Jinsen Arsenal stamp and the serial number. The bore is dark but rifling is visible. The metal and the stock are in great condition and on the right side is a remnant of "400" painted on the stock. There is a crack coming from the magazine floor plate and going towards the front of the rifle.Specifications
