Description
2/17/22 - This is a nice example of the rare Remington Model 31 shotgun that was U.S. military issued. This one has U.S. Property markings and the U.S. military did have both riot and sporting variants of the shotgun during WWII, the serial range for those guns is 51000 to 63000, so this one falls in the range. It's estimated only 9,000 were actually produced and sent to the military. This particular example has matching receiver and barrel, but the barrel appears force matched to the receiver. The "matching" barrel is 26in and marked SKEET on the side. It comes with a spare 28in barrel marked MOD. Excellent stock and handguard and replacement Pachmayr butt pad. Mint bore on the 26in barrel, minor wear to the 28in spare. Smooth action that is considered some of the best shotgun slide-action Remington ever produced.Specifications
