Description
1/9/24 - This is a super rare Remington Model 10 shotgun that was issued to the U.S. military. A correct Model 10 trench is probably the rarest and hardest-to-find U.S. military shotgun from either World War. The majority of them were converted back into riot or sporting shotguns over time, as you see with this one. The proper serial range for such military examples goes from 117731-165566, so this is one of the latest produced serial numbers. The barrel shows signs of that conversion, as the military crossed out the original serial and etched the matching last four digits of the receiver on it. The receiver is marked with the flaming bomb and U.S. proof. Barrel is marked 'Model 10' and has the 1905 patent date. The wood furniture is unmarked and all in excellent condition. Shiny bore with only minor hints of frost. Comes with an original wartime leather sling. The bluing is original throughout, and shows some thinning, patina and surface scuffs on the receiver.Specifications
