Description
6/21/23 - This is a rare transitional Colt 1911 that was manufactured in 1924. Fewer than 10,000 Colt 1911s were made that year, and they are known to have transitional features from the 1911 to the 1911A1. This particular gun has about 80% of the bluing remaining, but notable wear on the front strap, top of the slide and front left edges of the frame/slide. Barrel is correctly marked with intertwined HP marking. Bore is generally clean but shows some age and use. Excellent, sharply checkered grips aside from a notable gouge/indent on the right panel. Two-tone magazine. Comes with a Colt archive letter stating it was sent to Springfield Armory in May of 1924.Specifications
