Description
03/18/26 - For sale is a Japanese Type 99 Naval Special Carbine made at the Yokosuka Naval Yard during WW2. These rifles were manufactured using cast iron on any non-pressure bearing parts. The barrel and bolt were used with steel, and the bolt lugs lock into the barrel instead of the receiver. The receiver only acts as a shell to hold everything together. This rifle shows some surface corrosion damage on the receiver and the anchor stamp is very faint. The stock has been sanded but is structurally sound. There is a dowel going through the buttstock to secure the splice together. The bore is roughly a 4/10 with visible, fairly bright lands, but the rifling is worn and the grooves are dark. The bolt is not serialized.
