Description
10/07/26 - For sale is a French Contract Remington Berthier Mle 1907-15 chambered in 8mm Lebel and made in 1915-1916 as aid to the French Army during WW1. These rifles were considered sub-standard by the French and were never accepted into service during WW1. The bluing is fading to a mixture of blue, grey, and brown patina. The receiver is turning a lighter grey with some scuffs, and the barrel area has lost the bulk of its finish. The stock is in good condition overall with many handling marks throughout. No cracks or breaks. The letters "MM" are scratched into both sides of the buttstock. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The receiver is stamped with the serial number "298"; these rifles normally had no serial numbers.
