Description
10/2/26 - This is a "VoPo", “volkspolizei”, East German police Luger built around a 1937 Krieghoff and reworked by the East Germans after WW2. The gun is mismatched, and the only Krieghoff parts are the upper receiver and the front and rear toggle links, which carry the proper "Eagle L2" proofs. The middle toggle link is "S/42" marked for Mauser. Some of the parts have been renumbered to match, which is "typical" of these reworked guns. There is a "Crown N" proof on the barrel and a Russian "X" on the front edge of the frame. The gun was refinished at the arsenal, and there is very little finish loss, just a hint of thinning on the side plate and some dulling and pin-pricking on the grip straps. Fitted with the correct concentric circle VoPo grips. It comes as a rig with two matching-numbered magazines - one WW2-era magazine and one post-war magazine, both renumbered to match - and a minty post-war black leather holster. Minty bore. A great piece of post-war East German history with a Krieghoff pedigree.
