Description
12/1/20 - This is a nice example of a WW2-era Smith and Wesson Model 10 Police revolver with an interesting history. It has British proofs on it. From research, we believe this pistol was part of the British Lend Lease program. We have found several others in the exact same serial range with the exact same markings. On this particular pistol, there is also an "LLM" marking on the right side of the frame. We are not sure what this means and could not find much information. If anyone knows, please feel free to pass it along This one is fully functional, the cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth. It has retained about 70% of its original bluing. There is wear around the muzzle and thinning on the barrel. Thinning and patina on both straps. Wear on the high edges of the cylinder, and there is a roll mark. There are small handling marks and spotty oxidation throughout. There is an area of pitting around the muzzle. The grips are excellent. The bore is shiny with strong rifling with a couple of sparse areas of minor pitting.Specifications
