11/06/24 - For sale is a scarce Kar 88 Carbine made by V C Schilling in 1892. The carbine is in good condition overall with patina throughout the metal of the rifle. The original "in the white" finish of the receiver is partially visible most of the receiver has turned brown with age. The barrel jacket retains a nice deep bluing. The stock has been lightly sanded sometime in the past but the cartouches are still well-defined on the right side. The carbine has matching numbers on the receiver, barrel, rear sight, bolt, bolt sleeve, safety flag, cocking piece, trigger guard nose cap, barrel band, stock, both take down screws, and trigger assembly. There is an odd grind-like mark on the "V C Schilling" stamping. The bore is bright but there's very fine pitting at the muzzle. The protective of the front sight have been shaved.
