Description
1/14/25 - This is a Winchester Hotchkiss First Model repeating rifle chambered in .45-70. The rifle is in good condition overall. The metal has lost the bulk of its finish and is down to bare metal. There is spotting of oxidation and patina but no pitting. The trigger and trigger guard have a coating of surface oxidation. The stock is clean but has been lightly sanded sometime in the past. The proof marks are faint on the wrist. The bore is bright with great rifling. There are 2 hairline cracks about 1/2" in length on each side of the upper tang. A scarce First Model Hotchkiss in .45-70.Specifications
