Description

4/17/23 - This is a clean and desirable MAS-36, the standard issue rifle of the French army prior to WW2. Rifle was made in June of 1940, the same month France surrendered to Germany. The rifle is matching on the receiver, bolt, rear stock, forestock, magazine plate, and trigger guard. Bayonet does not match. The black paint over the parkerized finish is worn throughout, especially on the barrel, and there is noticeable patina on the buttplate. Excellent oak wood stock with minor dings here and there. Stock is stamped with the French Cartouche “JUIN 1940.” Bore is bright, with slight erosion a few inches from the muzzle. Comes with correct MAS-36 sling. No import mark.
