Description
4/20/26- For sale is a shortened Italian M1871 bayonet. The original bayonets were very long and many were shortened later on to make them more manageable. The blade is dark with either bluing or patina and there is some evidence of light grinding although it appears to have been done in the period. The crossguard is marked "BC 128" along with a TA and crown proofmark, likely indicating manufacture in Turin. The grip has light wear and one or two chips but no serious damage. The leather scabbard is well aged, along with some loose stitching and a tear at the lower section. There is a faint stamp that says "Torino 1886". Overall in good condition.
