Description

06/24/2024 - For sale is a Siamese (Thailand) Type 46/66 Mauser made by the Japanese arsenal Kokura. The Kingdom of Siam would look for a new rifle for their military at the turn of the century as they were using outdated Steyr 1888/90 Mannlicher rifles. They would receive the license to produce German Gewehr 98 action rifles but didn't have the industry to manufacture them so they would reach out to Japan. These rifles have some features seen on the Type 35 Arisaka like the sliding dust cover. The rifle is in great condition overall with the only wear on the receiver from the dust cover. The rest of the parts have a nice bluing. The stock is in great condition with minor dings here and there from use. The bore is bright and has great rifling, but it is fully frosted over. The rifle has been converted to the 8x52r spitzer cartridge and the rear sight has bene shaved. The receiver is stamped with the Siamese Chakra.
