Description
12/10/24 - For sale is a Siamese Type 46 Mauser made by the Koishikawa Arsenal of Japan in the early 1900s. The Kingdom of Siam was looking to adopt a new rifle to replace their 1888 Mannlicher rifles and were granted a license to produce Mauser 98 action rifles. They had contracted out to Japan to produce the Type 46. After WW1, the majority of these rifles were updated to the Type 46/66, utilizing a spitzer bullet and chambered in 8x52r Siam. The sights would be ground down to compensate for the flatter shooting cartridge. This example has avoided this update. The rifle is in good condition with the metal retaining some of its original bluing. There are spots of wear throughout the receiver, dust cover, and around the muzzle. The stock is in great condition free of any cracks or breaks. The receiver is stamped with the Siamese Chakra. The bolt does not have a serial number. The bore is fairly bright but the rifling is worn with some minor pitting visible. The cleaning rod is absent from this rifle.Specifications
