Description
8/15/25 - For sale is a No1 Mk1* Lee Enfield made at the Enfield Arsenal in 1906. The rifle was sent to the Free Irish State as aid during the Irish Civil War. The rifles were renumbered and had a serial prefix of ER, CR, or G to be recognizable if it were used by the IRA. The rifle retains a nicely aged bluing with patches of wear and finish loss. The stock shows plenty of handling wear and use, but no cracks or breaks. The bore is bright with good rifling. Slight darkening in the grooves. The rifle has matching numbers on the receiver, bolt, and nose cap. The rear sight ladder is mismatched. The bayonet is in great shape. The blade is stamped "EFD 1907" and the Crown GR. The blade is worn to bare metal with a darkened finish remaining toward the crossguard. The grip panels show handling marks and wear, but no cracks. Scabbard shows its age and wrinkles, but no breaks. Canvas frog in good condition.
