Description
6/30/25 - This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1862 Police/Pocket Navy Conversion Revolver, manufactured in the 1870's. It looks like it was originally chambered in .36 Caliber, but we believe this is a .38 Caliber Navy conversion. It is completely matching with a 3.5 inch round barrel. The serial number has an "IP" suffix. There are many other examples of these "IP" guns recorded, but there doesn't seem to be a strong consensus on what it actually means. Stage Coach robbery scene on the cylinder (~90+% visibility). The gun is in excellent condition for its age with original bluing on the barrel and cylinder and case-hardening on the frame. There is honest spotty oxidation here and there with some light scratches and dings on the barrel. Fitted with very nice wood grips. The bore has decent rifling, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. Fully functional. No FFL required.
