Description
1/12/26 - This is a very nice example of a Walther P.38 made at the end of the war in 1945. It is an all matching "b" block example with a "fnh" barrel, making this a fairly rare variation, with a total production of about 5,000 for this variation. This example features the distinctive late-war cog hammer and phosphated small parts typical of this variation. It is marked "AC 45" on the slide and has the proper "Eagle 359" acceptance proofs. The barrel is marked "fnh". This example has a late-war military finish that is difficult to rate, but we estimate it has retained about 95% of its original bluing. There is minor thinning on the barrel and front strap, as well as some mild discoloration along the top flat of the slide. Excellent original grips. De-cocker works properly. The bore is shiny with strong rifling, but there is minor oxidation near the muzzle end. The gun comes with a period-correct jvd magazine.
