Description
7/28/25 - This is a nice example of a scarce commercial S&W Model 1917 Revolver, chambered in .45 Caliber. These guns lack "US Property" markings and are much less common then the military versions. It was manufactured post-WWII, likely in 1946 based on the serial number. This one has retained about 92-93% of its original high polish finish. There is general high edge wear, muzzle wear, some small dots of discoloration along the right side of the barrel, minor cylinder wear, and hints of thinning on the grip straps. Fitted with minty hand-checkered Walnut grips - the right panel is numbered and matching. The bore has excellent rifling with minor frosting throughout.
