Description
8/12/25 - The Smith & Wesson K-22/40, also known as the K-22 Outdoorsman First Model, is a scarce pre-war .22 caliber revolver produced only in 1940, with approximately 1,067 examples made. Built on the square-butt K-frame and chambered in .22 Long Rifle, it features a 6-inch pinned barrel, adjustable sights, and S&W’s exceptional pre-war fit and finish. The K-22/40 was the immediate successor to the original K-22 Outdoorsman and the forerunner to the post-war K-22 Masterpiece series, offering target-grade accuracy and smooth double-action operation. Its very limited production, due to the outbreak of World War II, makes it one of the rarest target revolvers in S&W’s history and a highly desirable piece for serious Smith & Wesson collectors. This one has retained about 97% of its finish with just minor high edge and muzzle wear. Fitted with hand-checkered walnut grips - the right panel is numbered but mismatched. Minty bore.
