Description
07/30/26 - For sale is a Spanish M44 Mauser issued to the air force. These rifles were assembled using a mixture of various Mauser 98 action parts on hand, like the Wz.29, Gew98, and K98k. The majority of the metal has a shiny refinished bluing while the barrel has a more matte finish. There is some visible pitting behind the front band on the barrel and some signs of old corrosion above the bayonet lug. The stock has been sanded heavily and varnished with a shiny coat. There is a hairline crack about 1/2" in length behind the tang. The trigger guard is missing one of its locking screws. The bore is fairly bright with good rifling, but the last 6 inches of the muzzle is darkening. The rifle has matching numbers on the bolt, receiver, magazine floor, and trigger guard. The top of the receiver had been drilled and tapped for a scope, and cold blue was applied to the areas around the holes. The safety is also not original and is an aftermarket part.
