Description
8/22/25 - This is a nice example of a rare and desirable German K98k High Turret Sniper made by Mauser in 1944. In service from 1939 to the end of the war, turret mount rifles were considered the most efficient design of the K98 rifles. This example is originally and correctly a High Turret piece with proper receiver and mounts, but the stock has been restored. The rifle is about 95% condition overall with a nice blued finish on the metal. There is freckling of oxidation on the surfaces. The stock is in great shape but we believe is not original to the rifle. The serial number within looks to have been steamed out then re-stamped. The sniper buttplate and the stock also have a poor mating. The surface of the stock has been lightly sanded. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The serial numbers on the bolt match the receiver. The safety flag is unnumbered. The scope ring number does not match the rifle. The scope lens is clear and the reticle is sharp.
