Description
09/02/26 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1866 that had the Allin Trapdoor conversion installed and chambered in .50-70 government. The rifle was originally a Model 1863 made in 1864. The rifle is well aged with a patina/tranish throughout the metal. There's some shallow cratering of pitting at the muzzle. The stock has been lightly sanded or cleaned sometime in the past. No cracks or breaks. The bore is bright with good rifling, but there's visible shallow pitting. Action functions properly. The barrel is about 29.5" measured from the hinge of the trapdoor.
