Description
10/21/26 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor chambered in .45-70 Gov't, made in 1884. The rifle has lost the majority of its finish, and the surface has freckles of oxidation and some light corrosion. The receiver and trapdoor have prickling of shallow pitting on the surface. The barrel was cut down to 26.5", and the stock was shortened along with it. The stock has been sanded to a smooth finish, with no cracks or breaks and some light chips around the tang. The trigger guard does not fit flush within the stock. The bore is bright with strong rifling, but there are many spots of pitting visible.
