Description
7/19/21 - This is a nice example of a Springfield Model 1911 issued to the US military during WW1. It is all correct with the proper Springfield logo and flaming bomb proofs. All of the small parts are properly "S" marked, including the barrel, except the barrel bushing. It does, however, look original to the gun and often they are not marked at all. There is an "NRA" marking just under the serial number. It indicates that this gun was sold to the public through the NRA after WW1. It actually makes the gun rarer and more desirable. It is a known and sought-after variation. The gun has retained roughly 70% of its original finish. There is spotty wear throughout, most noticeable on the front strap and right side of the gun. There is heavy brown patina and spotty oxidation throughout. A couple of scratches on the slide. It comes with correct Springfield grips and an early Colt magazine. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with pin-pricking in the grooves.Specifications
