Description
9/23/22 - This is a very nice example of a scarce NRA marked Springfield Model 1903, manufactured in 1913. These NRA Sales rifles were sold by the D.C.M. only to N.R.A. members in the 1913-1916 time frame. They were issued by both Springfield Armory and Rock Island Arsenal. It has the proper "flaming bomb NRA" marking on the trigger assembly. However, the trigger assembly does not fit perfectly in the stock, so it's possible it was replaced. Springfield barrel dated February of 1913. "JSA" marking on the stock. Overall, the gun is in very nice condition. Generally, there is minor wear around the high edges, around the muzzle, on the barrel bands, and on the receiver. An area of noticeable splotchy discoloration on the left side of the receiver. Nice wood stock with minor dings, bruises, and scuffs throughout. The wear is most noticeable on the right side of the butt stock. We believe the upper hand guard was modified. Hairline crack in the front portion of the upper handguard. The riling in the bore is slightly worn with very minor frosting in the grooves.Specifications
