Description
8/15/24 - This is a 1934-36 contract Persian Artillery luger rig, manufactured by Mauser for the Shah of Iran, and one of only an estimated 1,000 produced! ¬This is a standard 1914 model artillery that is designated by collectors as a 1934 Mauser contract. ¬The script on the right side of the slide says 'Pistol Model 1314' in Farsi, which would refer to 1935 on our calendar, as Persia adopted the date of the flight of Mohamed as year one. ¬The toggle link reads 'Mauser' in Farsi, and the serial is seen in all the normal locations for German contract artillery lugers. The serial of the gun is 3717 while the magazine translates to 3795. ¬The left side of the slide also shows a crown property mark. The pistol is all matching and original with about 94% of the blue remaining. Minor high point wear on the barrel and sideplate, and a few very minor surface scratches in a couple of places. Original and correct Persian magazine, but it appears the number is mismatched. Terrific bore. Excellent straw on the small parts, as well. Robert Saltsman collection.Specifications
