Description

1/25/24 - Located at our Ohio office. Measuring 4" in length, this is an early Model 2 Perplex 12mm flare pistol. It is a German Schientod Pistol from the 1920's. It has 2 barrels in an over/under arrangement. This early version breaks open by the latch on the left of the pistol to the rear. This functional piece is maker stamped on the left side of the frame PERPLEX / D.R.P.a. MODELL 2 and is proofed on the right side of barrel and frame with the German crown U. This smooth bore pistol used a SCHEINTOD 12mm cartridge, that was charged with tobacco dust, designed to "shoot" into the face of an attacker. Sort of an early version of pepper spray.
