SOLD - Ultra Rare Krieghoff Luger - P Code (P563 - 10325)

Description

9/20/19 - This is an extremely hard to find P Code Series Krieghoff Luger, with Heinrich Krieghoff frame inscription!   In 1935-36, about 10,000 excellent Krieghoff lugers were supplied to the Luftwaffe, but a little more than 1,000 or so were rejected by the Luftwaffe inspectorate on technicalities such as excessive headspace.   These otherwise flawless guns were sound enough to be sold for commercial use, and received a P-prefix before the serial number on the frame.  The rejection stamp on this one can be seen as a five-pointed star on the right side of the receiver.  The left side of the frames on these pistols were inscribed "Heinrich Krieghoff Waffenfabrik Suhl", and this correct marking can also be found on the pistol listed above.  This particular pistol has about 95-96% of its original finish, with some wear on the muzzle, the side plate and left side of barrel, as well as a little patina on the straps.  It has a 6in or 150mm barrel, and is chambered in 7.65mm (.30 Luger). The magazine appears to be a correct commerical Krieghoff mag, which would not have received a Krieghoff proof, and it is 15 digits off from the serial of the pistol.  Correct and beautiful Krieghoff grpis.  Mirror bore.  Could be years before you see another one quite like this!
