Description
5/25/23 - This is an ultra rare 2nd variation Zero Series Walther P.38 with milled panel on slide. Krutzek's P.38 book labels it as a variation 2b example, one of only ~320 ever produced. These were made using leftover 480 coded slides, and the Zero Series variation milled out the 480 marking from the slide. Otherwise, it is mechanically identical to the other second variation examples. This one is all matching and original, including the grips. The bluing rates at about 90%, with a patch of finish loss on the left side of the muzzle, left side of slide, and a little more on trigger guard and front strap. The magazine is an original and correct second variation example but is about 700 digits off from the pistol. Safety works but not as a de-cocker. Bore has decent rifling but freckling through the grooves. Listing includes a spare Walther magazine, and comes with an excellent 1943 hardshell holster.
