Description
11/4/26 - This is a U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal. Established in 1941, the Army Good Conduct Medal is awarded to enlisted soldiers for exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity during a period of continuous active service. The bronze medal features an eagle with outspread wings perched on a closed book and sword, surrounded by the words "Efficiency - Honor - Fidelity." The reverse bears a star above a blank scroll for engraving, encircled by the words "For Good Conduct" and a wreath of laurel and oak leaves. It hangs from the red and white ribbon with a pin back brooch. The medal is unnamed. The bronze shows light toning and some light spotting on the reverse, the ribbon shows light wear and soiling, and there is some verdigris around the pin back hinge and catch. A nice, classic U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal for the medal collector.
