Description
10/3/24 - This is a good example of a WW1 German Black wound badge. Wound badges came in 3 classes, Black, Silver and Gold. The Black Wound badge was awarded to those soldiers who received one to two wounds. Silver was for three to four wounds, or the loss of a hand, foot, eye or deafness, Gold was for being wounded more than 5 times, or if you were permanently disabled. This badge is in good condition, retaining some of it's original black paint. The helmet on this badge does have some oxidation. The back of the badge still has its original pin and clasp. Both of these are still fully functional.Specifications
