Description
2/22/21 - This is a very nice example of a Winchester Model 1917 issued to the US military in 1918. There are flaming bomb military proofs on the barrel, receiver, and bolt handle. The bolt handle is numbered on top and does not match the gun. It looks like it was applied later. The bolt is Winchester and marked "W". Import mark on the barrel. There is an Eagle Head military proof on the wrist of the stock. There are also Eagle Head proofs on the edge of the ejection port. The original finish is mostly in tact on the floor plate and butt plate, but there is noticeable finish loss on the other metal parts. Light scratch on the butt plate. The stock is very nice with just minor dings, dents, and scratches throughout. The gun comes with a canvas sling. The bore has great rifling, but there is minor frosting throughout.Specifications
