Description
11/3/26 - For sale is a WWII Imperial Japanese Army Type 90 combat helmet with its star insignia, liner, and chin ties. The Type 90 was adopted in 1930 (the year 2590 on the Japanese imperial calendar, which gives the helmet its name) and remained the standard Japanese Army helmet throughout the war in China and the Pacific. This pressed steel shell retains its stamped Army star on the front and much of its original brown paint. Inside, it has the original leather liner pads and the cloth chin ties, and there is a white painted character on the inside of the brim. The paint shows scattered chips, scuffs, and spots of wear throughout, with some areas of surface oxidation, particularly on the crown. The leather liner shows age and wear, and the cloth ties show age toning consistent with use. A nice, complete Type 90 with its star, liner, and ties.
