SOLD - WWI German Mauser 98/05 Bayonet

7/25/25 - This 98/05 bayonet was made for the German military by Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf in 1917. The metal parts of the handle show age as it has patina through most parts. There is also a some pitting on the spine of the bayonet handle. The wooden grips are dark and have some dents as well as a chip near the crossguard on one side of the bayonet. There is a serial number on the handle. The blade of the bayonet shows no signs of sharpening or polish. It is maker stamped near the crossguard. The spine of the bayonet has a "crown W" over a "17" indicating that this bayonet was made in 1917. The scabbard shows wear and has a two-digit serial number. There is a crack at the bottom of the scabbard. The serial numbers do not match the blade.
