Description
03/18/26 - For sale is a Japanese Type 99 Naval Special made by the Yokosuka Arsenal. These rifles were manufactured using cast iron on any non-pressure bearing parts. The barrel and bolt were used with steel, and the bolt lugs lock into the barrel instead of the receiver. The receiver only acts as a shell to hold everything together.
The rifle has a faint blued finish with most of it worn and turning a brown patina. There are some grind marks on the receiver and the Navy Anchor is no longer present. The stock shows light surface wear but in great shape overall. There is a GI's name, "H.A. Salter," scratched into the left side. The bore is bright with good rifling. There is some light wear to the corners. There is a matching assembly number stamped on the receiver ring, barrel, bolt, and safety knob.
