Description
4/26/23 - This is an excellent example of a Model 1884 Trapdoor Carbine in great condition. Roughly 5,000 carbines were produced per year, compared to 30,000+ of the rifles. This rifle sports the carbine features like the saddle ring on the side, and the rear sight is marked ÄúCÄù The stock is in great condition, with only minor handling marks. There is a Springfield cartouche stamped 1887 on the side with the Circle P proof on the bottom with a ÄúDÄù and Äú28Äù stamped behind it. There are some notable chips in the stock roughly 2 to 3 mm in size on the toe of the stock and the front of the stock on the left side past the barrel band. Bluing on the metal is great, with some wear on the saddle ring bar. There is also some finish loss towards the front sight and slight layer of light oxidation. The trapdoor and tang sports a clean case hardened finish, and the butt plate contains a 3 piece cleaning rod behind a swivel door.Specifications
