5/14/24 - This is a US officers sabre presented to a Captain Adreian St. John in 1927 for his service in the Chemical Warfare. The inscription on the scabbard reads "Presented to Captain Adrian St. John / CWS US Army / By the Reserve Officers of the Chemical Warfare Service / 2nd Corps Area / August 27th 1927". The blade is covered in beautiful filigree engraving, marked "U.S.", has an American Eagle seal, and has the captain's name "Adrian St. John". It is maker marked "Henry V. Alien & Co New York". The handle of the sabre features the head of an eagle. Overall, the blade is in excellent condition with just very light freckling here and there and some minor surface rust where the blade meets the handle. Very nice wood grip.Specifications
