7/25/22 - This is a very nice example of a Starr Arms Model 1858 revolver issued to the US military during the Civil War. It is all matching and has the proper military inspection proofs on both sides of the grips. This one is in better shape than most, retaining roughly 75% of its original finish. Some of the original fire-bluing is still visible on some of the small parts. There is spotty wear and oxidation throughout and some areas of splotchy discoloration. The grips appear to have been lightly sanded and an extension and brass plate were added. The bore is near-mint.
