SOLD - Type 98 Army Officer Sword with Field Scabbard

8/1/22 - This is an original WW2 production Japanese Army Officer T98 sword. The sword comes with an original field scabbard, which has a leather cover as shown. The sword blade is fairly clean with a nice tempered edge. The tip has a very small micro-chip, and there are a few other imperfections along the edge near the base of the blade (but these are extremely small "dings" or nicks that are hardly noticeable). The blade also has some speckling and areas of mild surface patina and slight discoloration. No signs of sharpening nor any major issues, however. The fittings are in great condition as is the handle and hilt. Factory made blade. The scabbard is in great shape, although the leather securing strap is broken, as shown.
