Description
8/3/22 - This is an original Red Cross Hewer from WW2. The Hewer comes with an original scabbard with leather frog attached, and a 1990 dated product tag from Thomas Wittmann. The Hewer blade is excellent with very nice cross graining throughout. There are some very mild spots of oxidation & patina but this is normal wear. No signs of sharpening nor any edge wear. The leather stopper is still intact. The handles are in excellent condition, and the metal pommel / hand guard are in great shape as well. The scabbard has no dents but there's mild paint loss throughout. The leather frog shows aging and surface wrinkling, but is in great condition overall with a maker stamp and 1940 date on the back.Specifications
