Description

9/4/24 - This is a good example of an inert 1.65 Inch Hotchkiss High Explosive (HE) round. These rounds were used most often in the M1875 Mountain Gun. These guns were famous for their use during the Spanish-American War in Cuba, and for their use by the U.S. Cavalry at Wounded Knee. The brass shell on this round is in great shape with no major dents. The HE Shell still has an empty fuse housing inside, and can be removed from the brass, although the fitment is tight. The brass is case stamped " F.A. 1903 1"65 ".
