Description
10/15/24 - This is a great example of a WW1 1918 US Trench Knife made by LF&C. This example is in very great overall condition, with almost all of it's original blade finish still intact. Only near the tip of this blade is there some finish loss. There is some thinning of the finish on the high edges from standard scabbard use. The blade has it's original edge and shows no signs of sharpening. There are some small dings and edge deformations on the edge, but overall the blade is in very great condition considering it's age. The handle on this knife is also in very great condition with the points on the knuckles still being very sharp. The "skull breaker" end cap does have some oxidation but this is not effecting it's use or the integrity of the knife overall. The scabbard on this blade is turning red from the copper under finish but is in overall very good condition. The scabbard has no major dents or dings, but does have oxidation towards the end. However, this oxidation is not effecting the integrity or function of the scabbard which remains strong. On major bonus of this scabbard is that it still retains both of it's mounting points. These often snap due to the thin metal that they were made of, and from use on the webbing belt. Both the handle of this trench knife and the scabbard are maker marked "L.F & C 1918".Specifications
