Description
1/15/25 - This is a great example of a WWII Springfield Armory M1 Garand stock. The stock is marked with SA/GAW, indicating inspection by George A. Wood during Springfield Armory production. It also features the firing proof test stamp and the crossed cannons ordnance stamp, both of which are characteristic of Springfield Armory-made stocks during WWII. The stock is in great overall condition, showing only minor handling marks and some minor dents, with no cracks or significant damage. The wood has maintained its integrity, and the markings on the side are somewhat faint but are still visible. The stock is missing its sling swivels and but plate. Under the butt plate the stock is further marked with what appear to be lot numbers and possibly additional inspection stamps. This stock would go great with any WW2 production Springfield M1 Garand rifle.
