SOLD - 1st Model DAK Pith Helmet (011722-24)

Description

1/19/22 - This is an original 1st model Pith helmet from WW2. These helmets were used by the DAK and the 1st model helmets are more scarce than the 2nd model Pith helmets. The 1st model has a cloth exterior and a molded cork brim. This example is in very good overall condition with some honest wear from use and aging. The exterior has a few small spots of discoloration and light surface scuffs but no major issues. The stitching is all tight and original. There's considerable aging and surface wear on each of the two exterior decals but they're both original and in tact. The interior is fairly clean and shows aging and color fading throughout. The interior of the leather liner is 1942 dated and ink stamped by the maker. Also comes with the original leather chin strap. Size 55.
