SOLD - Rare Portuguese 1935/06 Mauser Banner Luger

7/27/21 - This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser Banner Luger that was made under contract with the Portuguese government. It is all matching and has the proper Portuguese "GNR" (Guarda Nacional Republicana) marking on the chamber. These lugers were largely unheard of in the collector market for a long time, as only 564 were produced! This is a well documented series of exactly 564 guns from 1921v through 2484v. This model has the 1906 old style frame with grip safety, no stock lug and fast taper barrel. These were made specifically for the Portuguese "Republican National Guard". This particular example has retained somewhere between 93-95% of its finish. There is wear and spotty oxidation at the base of both straps. A spot of minor wear in the center of the front strap. There is minor wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. Very minor pin-pricking on the high edges of the side plate. Comes with excellent grips and an un-numbered aluminum magazine. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling.
