Description
10/6/26 - This is a Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1914. It wears British "Crown/V" proofs at the back left of the slide and frame, so it was likely part of a British contract, though this cannot be said for absolute certain without a Colt factory letter. The gun has been completely refinished. There is very little actual finish loss, but there is some light pitting under the bluing and a few scratches and marks here and there. Fitted with replacement checkered wood grips and comes with a Kongsberg lanyard loop magazine. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn, with pin-pricking throughout. An early commercial Government Model with an interesting British connection.
