Description
3/1/22 - This is a nice example of a Springfield Armory Model 1903. The serial number on the receiver dates it to 1908. The barrel was replaced with a Rock Island Arsenal barrel dated December of 1918. It was likely reworked for use during WW1. The bolt was replaced and is marked "RAO". The stock has no visible markings except for a "39" on the top edge of the butt stock - likely a rack number. Overall, the gun is in nice condition. There is spotty, somewhat scratchy wear on the barrel, font barrel band, and bolt handle. Some wear around the high edges of the receiver and some thinning at the back of the receiver. There is splotchy discoloration on the floor plate/trigger group. The bore has good rifling with some minor pin-pricking in the grooves. Comes with a reproduction front sight hood.Specifications
